Tis the season

As our children go back to school and they mix and mingle and the germs do the same they are bound to come home sick. I have in my lap as I type a 13 month old who is usually by this time in the morning terrorizing the dogs and has half way destroyed the house. She is the most pitiful thing right now. STREAMS of snot, watery eyes and that lackadaisical stare. This is our first major cold. I say "our" because the whole family gets involved. I can't wait until I am chasing her around again telling her to stop pushing the dogs "button". It just breaks my heart to see her so miserable.

So don't forget to wash those hands! Tis the season!

YOU MUST BE 18 TO VIEW THIS ARTICLE.

This doll is used to educate people on childbirth. Although I believe in truthful education and not passing on the "stork" story, I'm not sure if I would use this "tool" for my kids. I'm not sure I would even want to see it before I gave birth. It's a bit disturbing! A few too many details for me! See what you think!?!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Thank you to my friend Julie for supplying this yummy recipe! Don't you just LOVE fall???

Ingredients:
1 (15 ounce) can solid pack pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie filling)
1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips
1 box spice cake mix

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees

Mix above 3 ingredients together until well blended (you don't add the oil and eggs on the back of the cake box-- just the above three ingredients)

Drop onto a cookie sheet using rounded table spoons.

Bake 15 - 18 minutes (Your oven may differ than mine - you can check and see if they are done using a toothpick)

Let cool on wire racks and you're done!! :) You can also put cream cheese frosting on some of them but in my opinion that makes them too sweet. It depends on much of a sweet tooth you have!

Thank you Christopher...

Remember this one?

In fourteen hundred ninety-two
Columbus sailed the ocean blue,
It was a courageous thing to do
But someone was already here.

Columbus knew the world was round
So he looked for the East while westward bound,
But he didn't find what he thought he found,
And someone was already here.

The Inuit and Cherokee,
The Aztec and Menominee,
The Onandaga and the Cree;
Columbus sailed across the sea,
But someone was already here.

It isn't like it was empty space,
Caribs met him face to face.
Could anyone discover the place
When someone was already here?

So tell me, who discovered what?
He thought he was in a different spot.
Columbus was lost, the Caribs were not;
They were already here.
