Better Chicken Conditions....

I know chickens aren't high on the totem pole, but I still think they deserve better conditions. I'm glad to see California become the first cage-free egg state.

According to planet green, that means..."Governor Schwarzenegger brought some good news to the state's chickens yesterday by signing legislation requiring that all whole eggs sold in California come from hens that are able to stand up, extend their limbs, and spread their wings without touching either one another or the sides of the cage."

Forgive me for my absence. I have been traveling for the last month and now packing to move but I had to blog about this latest party thrown by Pi Beta Phi. I'm so far removed from college life at this point I hardly remember those days. I couldn't help but giggle when I read about this recent party. Problems with the Tallest Building in the World

Dubai closes viewing deck on world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa observation tower. The observation deck is on the 124th floor of the Khalifa Tower in Dubai and has been closed for repairs only a month after it opened.

Emaar Properties, the builder of the tower, said there had been an unexpectedly high number of visitors and problems with the power supply.

Visitors to the tower pay US $100 (UK £64) to visit the viewing deck or, if they pay in advance, about US $30.

It is not known when the viewing platform will reopen.

So You're a Tough Guy EH?

Decathlons, Triathlons and the famous Iron Man competition can't touch this "Tough Guy" contest in the UK (that includes tough ladies too). More than 5,000 people come from all over the world to crawl through mud, fire, broken glass and an impossible course of 100 obstacles. There is even an electric fence they must pass called "the tiger". I can't believe people volunteer to do this! It looks like a Rambo movie set. However, it is for charity.

David Copperfield magically gets out of the rape charges he was accused of over three years ago. I remember when this story broke. I was heart broken to find out he was a womanizer and alleged rapist. Well, as you know those with any dough in their pocket have to watch out for greedy people. I have to tell you I am so glad my husband and I got married stone cold broke, I never had to question if he was just after money. Well, poor Copperfield was taken by a gold digger. She has just recently been charged with prostitution and has been scamming men all over the country for years. Like magic, charges against Copperfield have been dropped.

It's a fine line you follow when posting of facebook. I have seen way too many things I know I didnt need to that friends have posted. It may be my age, but for me it's a no brainer. Don't post anything illegal, don't post any pictures of you at last years Halloween party in the pornstar dirty nurse costume and generally speaking don't post anything you wouldn't want your Mama to see!

Human Kebab for Breakfast?

This article is something I would hope to only see in the movies. Unfortunately, it appears that it really happened. Three homeless men in Moscow were arrested for killing a man, eating some and selling the rest of the body to a kebab restaurant. I know...just swallow it down. Can you imagine? Now some poor unsuspected people in Moscow could be running around with a HUMAN Kebab pita. Reminds me of that movie Fried Green Tomatoes. You know, "Secrets in the sauce". Revenge tastes so good :)

Drug Company Bribes Dr.

You know this happens all the time but it's a rare occasion when it's brought to the light. I once looked into working as a drug rep but once I found out how these drug companies operate my morals told me NO even though my pocket told me yes. They do a lot of good, but I think most of them have lost the book on ethics. My advice: Always get second opinions. Don't just take medicine. Find out what it does and it's side effects. Don't just trust Doctors with your life, you are in charge of your own body! My heart aches when I see this. It also reminds me that the United States is truly in a world of it's own. This phenomenon is not "typical" and we try to avoid these situations at much as possible with education and other prevention methods.
