Ho Ho Ho!!!!

Happy Holidays! During this hectic time of year, don’t forget to enjoy the season. It is easy to get caught up in complaining about gifts, money, traffic and travel and quirky office parties. When feeling overwhelmed, take a deep breath and count to ten. Make your mind clear and your body relax. Take a warm bath, drink hot chocolate or get a massage. My favorite thing to do is sing as loud as I can and as badly as I can to my favorite songs! Singing is a proven stress reliever, not to mention the people in the car next to me get quite a laugh. Happy Holidays to you and yours during this wonderful season!

Kickin' it at THE BOOT

Norfolk Virginia is full of historic charm, amazing museums and fabulous restaurants. If you ever find yourself in this amazing city you must visit my favorite dining establishment, The Boot. They focus on local goods, working to explore and preserve fine Virginia heritage food-ways. The menu depicts inspiration of Italian cuisine yet works closely with Virginia farmers and artisans to bring the freshest ingredients of the season to the table. Their space is also a music venue housing various traveling and local acts which in turn nurtures the growing music scene of this fair city. Their goal is to create experiences that stand out from the commercial monoculture with inspirational food, music and art.

SUMMER + SANGRIA = FIESTA FUN

We are so lucky to be able to carry these beautiful authentic hand painted sangria pitchers straight from Spain. The spout is pinched in order to keep back the fruit ( but not the flavor). Enjoy this fabulous recipe...on me. It comes straight from our Sangria Book. This combo is a great gift this summer.

Combine 2 sliced lemons, 2 peaches, 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, 3 oz licor 43, 1/4 cup sugar. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Slowly pour in one bottle of light red wine, chilled. Refrigerate two hours or overnight. When ready to serve, add 12 oz club soda chilled. Pour slowly over ice. ENJOY!
